--Matthew--

And he entered into a ship, and passed over, and came into his own city. (9:1)

And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee. (9:2)

And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This [man] blasphemeth. (9:3)

And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts? (9:4)

For whether is easier, to say, [Thy] sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk? (9:5)

But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house. (9:6)

And he arose, and departed to his house. (9:7)

But when the multitude saw [it], they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men. (9:8)

And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he saith unto him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him. (9:9)

And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples. (9:10)

And when the Pharisees saw [it], they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners? (9:11)

But when Jesus heard [that], he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick. (9:12)

But go ye and learn what [that] meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. (9:13)

Then came to him the disciples of John, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast oft, but thy disciples fast not? (9:14)

And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast. (9:15)

No man putteth a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the garment, and the rent is made worse. (9:16)

Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved. (9:17)

While he spake these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live. (9:18)

And Jesus arose, and followed him, and [so did] his disciples. (9:19)

And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind [him], and touched the hem of his garment: (9:20)

For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole. (9:21)

But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour. (9:22)

And when Jesus came into the ruler's house, and saw the minstrels and the people making a noise, (9:23)

He said unto them, Give place: for the maid is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn. (9:24)

But when the people were put forth, he went in, and took her by the hand, and the maid arose. (9:25)

And the fame hereof went abroad into all that land. (9:26)

And when they were come to Capernaum, they that received tribute [money] came to Peter, and said, Doth not your master pay tribute? (17:24)

He saith, Yes. And when he was come into the house, Jesus prevented him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? of whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute? of their own children, or of strangers? (17:25)

Peter saith unto him, Of strangers. Jesus saith unto him, Then are the children free. (17:26)

Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea, and cast an hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up; and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money: that take, and give unto them for me and thee. (17:27)

And they went into Capernaum; and straightway on the sabbath day he entered into the synagogue, and taught. (1:21)

And they were astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as one that had authority, and not as the scribes. (1:22)

And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and he cried out, (1:23)

Saying, Let [us] alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God. (1:24)

And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. (1:25)

And when the unclean spirit had torn him, and cried with a loud voice, he came out of him. (1:26)

And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine [is] this? for with authority commandeth he even the unclean spirits, and they do obey him. (1:27)

And immediately his fame spread abroad throughout all the region round about Galilee. (1:28)

And forthwith, when they were come out of the synagogue, they entered into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John. (1:29)

But Simon's wife's mother lay sick of a fever, and anon they tell him of her. (1:30)

And he came and took her by the hand, and lifted her up; and immediately the fever left her, and she ministered unto them. (1:31)

And at even, when the sun did set, they brought unto him all that were diseased, and them that were possessed with devils. (1:32)

And all the city was gathered together at the door. (1:33)

And he healed many that were sick of divers diseases, and cast out many devils; and suffered not the devils to speak, because they knew him. (1:34)

And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed. (1:35)

And Simon and they that were with him followed after him. (1:36)

And when they had found him, they said unto him, All [men] seek for thee. (1:37)

And he said unto them, Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also: for therefore came I forth. (1:38)

And he preached in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and cast out devils. (1:39)

And there came a leper to him, beseeching him, and kneeling down to him, and saying unto him, If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. (1:40)

And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth [his] hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean. (1:41)

And as soon as he had spoken, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was cleansed. (1:42)

And he straitly charged him, and forthwith sent him away; (1:43)

And saith unto him, See thou say nothing to any man: but go thy way, show thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing those things which Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them. (1:44)

But he went out, and began to publish [it] much, and to blaze abroad the matter, insomuch that Jesus could no more openly enter into the city, but was without in desert places: and they came to him from every quarter. (1:45)

And again he entered into Capernaum after [some] days; and it was noised that he was in the house. (2:1)

And straightway many were gathered together, insomuch that there was no room to receive [them], no, not so much as about the door: and he preached the word unto them. (2:2)

And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four. (2:3)

And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken [it] up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay. (2:4)

When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee. (2:5)

But there were certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts, (2:6)

Why doth this [man] thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only? (2:7)

And immediately when Jesus perceived in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, he said unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts? (2:8)

Whether is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy, [Thy] sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk? (2:9)

But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,) (2:10)

I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house. (2:11)

And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion. (2:12)

And he went forth again by the sea side; and all the multitude resorted unto him, and he taught them. (2:13)

And as he passed by, he saw Levi the [son] of Alphaeus sitting at the receipt of custom, and said unto him, Follow me. And he arose and followed him. (2:14)

And it came to pass, that, as Jesus sat at meat in his house, many publicans and sinners sat also together with Jesus and his disciples: for there were many, and they followed him. (2:15)

And when the scribes and Pharisees saw him eat with publicans and sinners, they said unto his disciples, How is it that he eateth and drinketh with publicans and sinners? (2:16)

When Jesus heard [it], he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. (2:17)

And the disciples of John and of the Pharisees used to fast: and they come and say unto him, Why do the disciples of John and of the Pharisees fast, but thy disciples fast not? (2:18)

And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them? as long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast. (2:19)

But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then shall they fast in those days. (2:20)

No man also seweth a piece of new cloth on an old garment: else the new piece that filled it up taketh away from the old, and the rent is made worse. (2:21)

And no man putteth new wine into old bottles: else the new wine doth burst the bottles, and the wine is spilled, and the bottles will be marred: but new wine must be put into new bottles. (2:22)

And it came to pass, that he went through the corn fields on the sabbath day; and his disciples began, as they went, to pluck the ears of corn. (2:23)

And the Pharisees said unto him, Behold, why do they on the sabbath day that which is not lawful? (2:24)

And he said unto them, Have ye never read what David did, when he had need, and was an hungred, he, and they that were with him? (2:25)

How he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and did eat the showbread, which is not lawful to eat but for the priests, and gave also to them which were with him? (2:26)

And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: (2:27)

Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath. (2:28)

And he entered again into the synagogue; and there was a man there which had a withered hand. (3:1)

And they watched him, whether he would heal him on the sabbath day; that they might accuse him. (3:2)

And he saith unto the man which had the withered hand, Stand forth. (3:3)

And he saith unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? But they held their peace. (3:4)

And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched [it] out: and his hand was restored whole as the other. (3:5)

And the Pharisees went forth, and straightway took counsel with the Herodians against him, how they might destroy him. (3:6)

Now when he had ended all his sayings in the audience of the people, he entered into Capernaum. (7:1)

And a certain centurion's servant, who was dear unto him, was sick, and ready to die. (7:2)

And when he heard of Jesus, he sent unto him the elders of the Jews, beseeching him that he would come and heal his servant. (7:3)

And when they came to Jesus, they besought him instantly, saying, That he was worthy for whom he should do this: (7:4)

For he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue. (7:5)

Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof: (7:6)

Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed. (7:7)

For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth [it]. (7:8)

When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel. (7:9)

And they that were sent, returning to the house, found the servant whole that had been sick. (7:10)

So Jesus came again into Cana of Galilee, where he made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman, whose son was sick at Capernaum. (4:46)

When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judaea into Galilee, he went unto him, and besought him that he would come down, and heal his son: for he was at the point of death. (4:47)

Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe. (4:48)

The nobleman saith unto him, Sir, come down ere my child die. (4:49)

Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth. And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way. (4:50)

And as he was now going down, his servants met him, and told [him], saying, Thy son liveth. (4:51)

Then inquired he of them the hour when he began to amend. And they said unto him, Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him. (4:52)

So the father knew that [it was] at the same hour, in the which Jesus said unto him, Thy son liveth: and himself believed, and his whole house. (4:53)

And entered into a ship, and went over the sea toward Capernaum. And it was now dark, and Jesus was not come to them. (6:17)

And the sea arose by reason of a great wind that blew. (6:18)

So when they had rowed about five and twenty or thirty furlongs, they see Jesus walking on the sea, and drawing nigh unto the ship: and they were afraid. (6:19)

But he saith unto them, It is I; be not afraid. (6:20)

Then they willingly received him into the ship: and immediately the ship was at the land whither they went. (6:21)

The day following, when the people which stood on the other side of the sea saw that there was none other boat there, save that one whereinto his disciples were entered, and that Jesus went not with his disciples into the boat, but [that] his disciples were gone away alone; (6:22)

(Howbeit there came other boats from Tiberias nigh unto the place where they did eat bread, after that the Lord had given thanks:) (6:23)

When the people therefore saw that Jesus was not there, neither his disciples, they also took shipping, and came to Capernaum, seeking for Jesus. (6:24)

And when they had found him on the other side of the sea, they said unto him, Rabbi, when camest thou hither? (6:25)

These things said he in the synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum. (6:59)
